SERVICES

DESCI offers housekeeping services for a fee that can be cusomized to meet the needs of each person. Residents may choose to have housekeeping regularly or only as needed.

We serve lunch for a fee four days a week Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in our 12th floor dining room.

The Visiting Nurse Assn. comes to DESCI twice a month to take blood pressures, clip nails and provide other health services.

On staff maintenance personnel are available to perform handy man tasks for DESCI residents when needed.

Desci is a private not for profit building but we participate in the Denver Housing Authority Section-8 voucher program. If a resident is on Section-8, DESCI will accept payments from Section-8 for rent payments.

AMENITIES

DESCI is equipped with a state of the art secured entry system with 24-hour management coverage.

On the lower level, DESCI has an exercise room complete with state of the art equipment. The lower level is also where the laundry room and storage lockers are located.

On the first floor you will find our Mini Mart. The Mini Mart is overseen by the Resident Council and stocks all the essentials plus a variety of delicious snacks and beverages. All proceeds go to the Resident Council fund to be used for resident activities.

The first floor is where you’ll find the DESCI Beauty Shop. The beautician lives at DESCI and welcomes walk in clients.

Our 12th floor is DESCI’s crowning glory with a panoramic view of Denver and the surrounding mountains. Residents can exercise by walking outside on the roof walkway that goes around the entire 12th floor or just sit on the rooftop patio and look out at Cheesman Park.

Also on the 12th floor is the library, billiard room, dance floor, big screen TV and dining room. The library is maintained by a resident volunteer and boasts a varied selection of books, periodicals and reference materials. The Billiard Room, has a regulation size billiard table a T.V. and comfortable chairs for relaxing.

DESCI participates in the RTD Senior Ride Grocery Bus program. The bus picks residents up every Friday morning and takes them to an area grocery store, or to Walmart at Stapleton, then brings them home.

DESCI also has it’s very own park with a putting green, a gazebo and beautiful flowers. It is a wonderful area to relax and those with a green thumb are welcome to putter in the various flower beds.
